Frequently Asked Questions
How do I locate my nearest dealer?
Are you currently hiring at Sioux Steel?
We gladly accept applications of qualified candidates at any time. Please review our current positions and fill out a job application.
How do I become a Sioux Steel dealer?
Can I buy products directly from Sioux Steel?
Sioux Steel products are sold through a distribution network to assure that they are properly serviced and represented when they are sold. Please contact your local dealer to discuss product availability. Replacement parts for your existing products can be purchased at www.farmequipparts.com or by contacting your local dealership.
How do I obtain the erection manuals for my grain bin?
An owner's and erector's copy of the erection manuals are shipped with your bin and can be found in a plastic bag in the grey hardware tub. If the manuals cannot be found, please contact your dealer, who can download a copy for you.
What type of foundation do I need for my grain bin?
We recommend you contact a foundation engineer to obtain a certified foundation design. You may, however, contact Sioux Steel’s engineering department to obtain non-certified foundation recommendations for bidding purposes only.
What is the required spacing for my bin aeration floor supports?
The information for aeration floors, including support spacing, can be found in the Grain Floor Systems manual (manual no. 178468). This manual can be found in the floor flashing hardware pail. If the manuals cannot be found, please contact your dealer, who can download a copy for you.
Does Sioux Steel sell greenhouses?
The Pro·Tec building covers let 20% of the UV light into our buildings. Pro·Tec buildings can be used as greenhouses because this is enough light for mature plants.
If I want color on my cover, does it cost more?
No, the cost is the same. You can choose between a number of color options available.
Can I erect my building by myself?
You can possibly erect our smaller single tube buildings yourself. However, larger buildings become much more complex and we recommend obtaining a qualified contractor to erect those buildings. Keep in mind that building problems resulting from improper erection are not covered by warranty. Specific tools and equipment will be required to erect Pro·Tec buildings. Consult the erection manual for your particular Pro·Tec building for further information.
Can I get a freight quote for my building?
Please contact us at 1-800-557-4689 to obtain shipping quotes. You will need the zip code that it would ship to and whether it is going to a business or residence. Unload equipment will be required at the delivery site to offload building components.
