Education Requirements

- At least two years of experience required; four years of successful apprenticeship training preferred.

Responsibilities
Challenging and rewarding career opportunity leading manufacturing site with SCAFCO Grain, a subsidiary of Sioux Steel Company. Operate machinery within production environment to produce quality products according to work orders and customer requirements.
- Ensures proper operation of large industrial equipment such as power generators, turbines, mining devices, assembly line machinery, and machinist tools.
- Uses hand tools, hoists, jacks, squares, rules, micrometers, plumb bobs, and power tools to assemble, install, align, and adjust machines.
- Ensures machines perform to specifications by conducting tests; modifies and fine tunes machines.
- Operates engine lathe to adjust machine parts to dimensional specifications.
- Disassembles or dismantles machines.
- Gathers and assembles parts for repairs or modifications based on blueprints.
- Troubleshoots and repairs machines including when unexpected issues arise.
- Performs preventive maintenance makes repairs on older machines.
- Provides advice and recommendations to management concerning new machinery.
- Plans and facilitates installation of new or refurbished machinery, which may include building platforms and foundations.
- Conducts safety inspections of facilities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Prolonged periods standing, stretching, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling required.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time.
- Visual acuity to properly inspect and modify large and detailed portions of machinery.
- Manual dexterity to assemble, disassemble, adjust, and relocate machines.
