Responsibilities
The Field Technician is responsible for performing on-site maintenance, diagnostics, repair and equipment commissioning for Sioux Steel equipment or systems, at customer locations. Duties include installation, troubleshooting and repairing equipment as well as training customers on how to use new systems. Travel is required.
- Installation/Commissioning – setting up and configuring equipment or systems at customer sites.
- Maintenance – performing routine inspections, servicing, and preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Troubleshooting and Repair – diagnosing and resolving technical issues, either in person or remotely.
- Training – instructing clients on how to operate and maintain equipment or systems via field presentations and phone support.
- Ability to read manufacturing prints and manuals to construct products accurately.
- Documentation – maintaining accurate records of work performed, including inspection, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Customer Service – interacting with clients to address their needs. Provides technical support and ensures overall satisfaction with products and services.
- Follow company procedures and safety policies
- Utilize various software tools (expense reporting software, HubSpot, Microsoft Azure (TFS), Atlassian Jira)
- Must be willing to travel.
- Ability to follow operating instructions as outlined.
- Must follow all safety rules outlined by the company.
- Physical requirements for this position include; standing, walking for duration of shift, bending stooping constantly as needed, climbing stairs and or ladders as needed, operating hand and power tools as needed, heavy lifting objects intermittently, hand – eye coordination constantly, excellent vision and depth perception. Ability to do repetitive tasks.
- Must be able to operate construction machinery and tools (manlift, telehandler, forklift, gantry, cordless tools, corded tools)
- Requires attention to detail.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license
