Modern technology and external forces place a variety of loads on a bin roof. Roof trusses and purlin placement are critical to ensure stability without compromising the structures strength. Combining this with deep ribbed panels give an unparalleled performance against the elements.
Tension Plates and Truss Connectors are designed to transfer the roof weight directly to the side wall stiffeners and ultimately to the concrete foundation. This transference of weight minimizes the vertical pressure on the side walls.
Wind rings offer additional strength against the elements. External pressure from wind forces are overcome by utilizing wind rings to help equalize the hoop strength. Design and quantity of wind rings are determined by diameter and height of bin to adequately handle the external forces of wind.
Manufactured of 65,000# PSI tensile strength steel (50,000# yield strength) and utilizing 4" corrugation, Sioux Steel commercial tanks offer the ultimate in vertical strength.
Combining 44 inch corrugation and 3 roof panels per single sheet lessens the demand for bolts, nuts and washers which, in turn, lowers weight and erection costs.
Anchor System and Shims
The welded foot and shim system on the Sioux Steel commercial bin insures stability and even distribution of weight. Together, they form a firm and permanent foundation that allow positive and maximum strength.
The unique ovate construction of the man-way is the largest and most "user friendly" in the industry. It is designed to allow access to a heavily clothed individual.
Four doors designed specifically for strength and integrity dependent on the diameter and height of the structure. All feature tieless inside panels, secure latching and a large 36” x 27” opening.
Full Floor and Flush Floor
Designs range from a variety of in-concrete systems to full floor using 16, 18 or 20 gauge planking formulated by height and diameter. Choose from a welded free flow system of supports or 17 gauge die cast supports.
